In this project I was inspired by a city plan made by Bernard Palissy. This design of the city contained out of one row of spiraling terraced houses. There would be one way in and the centre would be most protected from intruders. Even though Palissy was passionatly inspired by the shapes of nature (and for this city plan specifically inspired by snailshells) the plan never got executed, because humans could never live comfortably in this shape. The shape also reminded me a lot of the classical labyrinth. For this project I used an extra small camera to move through my handmade spiralling labyrinth of a city to come closer to the mystical experience that could have been this city.
