This work is a vr installation. The viewer is invited to first look into the snail shell sculpture with a flashlight. After having done this, they can expirience the inside of the snail shell by putting on the vr-glasses. I filmed on the inside of this sculpture with a 360 camera, this video can be seen in the vr-glasses. The sculpture is made out of ceramics which I baked and glazed on the outside and inside.
This work was a research about how we can approach knowledge in a different way. I was inspired by how archeological and paleontological excavations are interpreted. With this snailshell sculpture I wanted to create a story of the biggest and oldest snailshell ever found. I invite people to interact with the object and with the story.
