Birth of a Bird

This is a film about the relation between the fragility of a bird on the street and the fragility of a young women on the street. The film is based on a memory that I have: as a child I walked past a crow, but it did not fly away. So I picket it up, but as I touched the bird I heard that on the tops of the buildings around me other crows were starting to caw at me. As I stopped touching the crow, the other crows also stopped cawing at me. There was a safety network of other birds who recognized me, a human, as a threat. In this film I explore themes of safety, the mother figure and the fragile body.
